Ok, Keto

5 years ago before the Keto train left the station, our founder went in for his annual wellness checkup. The doctor came back with his chart. Everything was in the green except for a large red number on the 2nd page.

“What’s up, Doc”?!, he proclaimed.

“You’ve got ketosis”, the doctor replied.

“Am I going to live"??, asked our founder with major concern.

“I think you’ll be just fine”, said the doctor.

We can assume that the 17th Century Dutch settlers in South African weren’t thinking about achieving a constant state of ketosis while hunting buffalo and avoiding lions. However if you’re sustained by a high-protein, low-fat, iron-rich snack that boost your immune system, strengthens your bones and builds muscle, you’re already doing something right by your body.

Whatever your lifestyle, we at Happie Bees Biltong aren’t here to preach. Although we encourage a healthy lifestyle through proper diet and routine exercise, biltong (along with everything) should be eaten in moderation.

We are, however, quite confident that by replacing your nitrate-loaded routine beef jerky, or your high-fat potato chips with 100% natural USDA Choice beef snacks, you’ll find yourself closer to a constant state of ketosis than you think.
